Speakers
Use the speaker dashboard to submit and revise abstracts.
Submit or revise an abstract
The speaker dashboard is the starting point for new abstracts and for revisions requested by the organizers.
- Open Speaker Dashboard.
- Choose the action to submit a new abstract or open an existing draft or submission.
- Enter the title, short description, full description, preferred session type, track, topic tags, level, duration, and any scheduling constraints. Aim for 75-150 words in the full abstract.
- Add co-presenters when needed.
- Submit the abstract and watch the dashboard or inbox for organizer feedback.
- When a revision is requested, reopen the abstract from the dashboard, update the requested fields, and resubmit.
Prepare for material requests
Material upload is not open right now, but accepted speakers can still use the dashboard to track what organizers will need.
- Open Speaker Dashboard.
- Review accepted sessions and organizer notes.
- Prepare slides and supporting files outside the app.
- Return when upload opens or when organizers send a request.
Notes
- Publication preferences control what may appear in the post-event archive after organizer review.
Create or use a session chat
Session chats are speaker-created open groups for registered attendees who want to discuss a session before, during, or after it happens.
- Open Speaker Dashboard after the agenda has been published.
- Find the session and choose the chat balloon action.
- Publish your networking profile first if the app asks for it.
- Create or reopen the session chat.
- Use Networking for the actual chat conversation.
Notes
- Any registered attendee with networking access can join the session chat.
- Use the chat to tune the session to audience interests, collect questions during the presentation, or continue discussion after the session.
- Co-speakers with published networking profiles are included.
- Registered attendees who add the session to their agenda can be added automatically.
- After the event is archived, the current session speakers or BoF organizer may receive a transcript of the chat.
